The Avondale Fire Company is a predominantly volunteer organization. We proudly provide fire and EMS services to the residents and businesses of Avondale Borough as well as New Garden, London Britain, Franklin, and West Marlborough Townships.
Our volunteers rely heavily on donations to supplement financial obligations for purchases of a variety of needs including firefighters' gear and equipment, training, new fire apparatus, and maintenance of the firehouse.

Weekly Training

On Wednesday, April 10th, Avondale held its weekly training night. This week, Avondale members toured The International Paper Plant located on Baltimore Pike. Members reviewed their daily operating polices as well as their on-site machines and generator operation. Reported House Fire in Kennett

At 1022 hours, on Monday April 8th, the Avondale Fire Company was alerted as automatic mutual aid to Kennett Fire Company on a reported house fire on Linden Circle. Units responded with-in seconds of the dispatch and were advised of "Smoke coming from the room where the heater is". On Sunday afternoon, at 1601 hours, the Avondale Fire Company was alerted as automatic mutual aid to assist West Grove on a reported structure fire on Treetops Road in London Britain Township. The Engine, Tanker and Chief made the response with-in seconds of the dispatch. First Due Reported House Fire

At 1856 hours, on Friday April 5th, the company along with mutual aid companies were dispatched to a reported house fire in the Cedar Wood Circle section of New Garden Township. Units responded with-in seconds of the dispatch and received reports from Chester County fire radio of a bathroom on fire in the residence. Avondale Assists Hockessin

On Saturday afternoon, Avondale Fire Company was alerted to assist Hockessin with a medical assist call. Chief, Engine 2 and Ambulance 1 responded on dispatch. As Avondale units were clearing the medical call, New Castle County Fireboard directed the engine to the 100 block of Venus Drive for a reported house on fire.
