Company Participates In Fire Prevention Week

October 10, 2007
Story By: Junior Firefighter John Morris IV.

On Wednesday October 10, 2007 members from the Avondale Fire Company went to the local kindergarten and day care centers to promote Fire Prevention Week. The members discussed fire safety with the children. This included Stop, Drop and Roll along with who to call incase of an emergency. The children also learned to crawl outside at the sight/smell of smoke and to not be afraid of firefighters. Junior Firefighter Morris packed up and gave the kids high fives to teach them that firefighters are their friends and are there to help. After reviewing fire safety the kids were brought outside and got to check out the fire truck along with the ambulance. Special thanks to all schools for their cooperation.

Units: Engine 23-3, Squad 23, Ambulance 23-2.
