Company assist West Grove on Barn Fire

Friday morning at 1:12 A.M. Station 23 was dispatched for an engine and tanker along with Station 22&12 (West Grove) to the area of 254 Schoolhouse Road for a dwelling fire. The Fireboard advised Chief 22 reports of flames visible from the rear of the house. Updated information was indicating that a barn in the rear yard was on fire.Engine 23-2 and Tanker 23 went responding shortly after dispatch. FM102 (Safety 23) was first on scene, and advised Fireboard of a barn well off. Engine 22 pulled into the driveway and had crews stretch handline towards the 20' X 40' barn. Tanker 23 arrived and backed down the driveway and supplied Engine 22 with water. Engine 23-2's crews walked down to the scene, the crew was assigned to light the scene up using tri-pod lights from Engine 22. Engine 23-1 made the response as well, upon arrival the crew took the long walk down to the scene, and assisted with handlines, and overhaul.With the companies working together to fire was extinguished and debris removed from the barn. The engine crews then assisted with hose and lighting clean up.Avondale units cleared the incident at 2:28 A.M.
