In-House Rescue Training March
8,2007 On March 8th, 2007 at 1900 hours the company went to Blittersdorf’s Towing for in-house rescue training. The company was provided with four vehicles, each vehicle was set up as a different scenario. By doing this, it gave the newer officers/firefighters a chance to run command of each vehicle rescue scenario. The officer of each vehicle figured out a plan, and had the crews work through using different hydraulic tools and hand tools. By the end of the night the crews had worked with cribbing, “Hurst” Jaws of Life, O cutters, and rams, air bags, high lift jacks, glass master and miscellaneous. hand tools to train on stabilization, patient extrication, safety, and hazards on auto accidents. The officers and members of the Avondale Fire Company would like to thank Blittersdorf’s for the cars, and use of the yard durning this training. A special thanks to Mike Blittersdorfs for taking time to meet with Deputy Chief Cole, and Asst. Chief Testa prior to training to help with setup. Units: Engine 23-1, Squad 23, Ambulance 23
