Busy Morning in the 23 District

On Thursday August 7th the company was dispatched at 7:00 AM for an auto accident on Route 41 North of Newark Road.  Ambulance 23-1 arrived on scene and advised 3 vehicle accident blocking.  Past Chief Decker requested fire police to close Route 41 down at Penn Green and Newark Roads.  Deputy 23 arrived and was advised by EMS crews of no injuries, Ambulance 23-1 was made “AOS”.   Deputy 23 had Engine 23-1 pull up to the scene and check for hazards, crews then washed debris off of the roadway.  While at the auto accident the Chester County Fire Board advised Deputy 23 at 7:28 AM of a 2nd call at Bowling Green Inn for an automatic fire alarm.  Engine 23-1 and Ambulance 23-1 re-routed to the fire alarm, while fire police remained on the Route 41 incident assisting NGPD with traffic control.  Engine 23-2 also made the response to the Bowling Green Inn shortly after dispatch.    Once on the scene of Bowling Green Inn Safety 23 confirmed a faulty alarm, and recalled the company.   
Fire Police cleared the auto accident on Route 41 at 7:53 AM.
Then at 11:28 AM the company was dispatched for wires at 100 Block of Pine Street in the Toughkenamon section of New Garden Township.  Deputy 23 went responding right after dispatch and was advised by the Chester County Fire Radio that a telephone pole was down on a tractor-trailer with electrical wires sparking.  Deputy 23 arrived at 11:31 AM and confirmed the Chester County Fire Radio report.  After further investigation it was determined that the electrical wires on the truck and the house were still energized, PECO was requested Priority 1 and the area was secured for the safety of by-standers.  Engine 23-1 and Ambulance 23-1 arrived at 11:36 AM and stood-by waiting for PECO.  PECO arrived at 11:58 AM and got the electric shut off to the area of the incident.  At this point the scene was turned over to PECO and 23 units cleared at 12:25 PM.
