Company Goes to Work in Hockessin

On October 8th, 2008 at 2108 hours the Avondale Fire Company was alerted to assist New Castle County Station 19 (Hockessin) on a working house fire. Moments later Engine 23-2, Tanker 23, Engine 23-1 and Engine 23-3 were enroute. Upon arrival, Deputy 23(Cole) advised Engine 23-1’s crew to be packed up and ready to work and for Engine 23-2’s crew to lay a water supply line. Once on scene, Deputy 23 had water supply with Tanker 23, Tanker 25 (Longwood), and Engine 24-6 (Kennett). Crews from Engine 23-2, 23-1, and 23-3 assisted 19’s crew with extinguishing the fire, ventilation, salvage, and overhaul. Crews were clear and available at 0026 hours.
