Field Fire in the Borough

On Monday afternoon Station 23 was alerted for a field fire off of Miller Road in Avondale Borough. Engine 23-3 was first on scene and reported a quarter acre field on fire. Engine 23-2 along with Tanker 23 followed behind Engine 3 but staged on the hard road. Crews pulled rakes and shovels off of Engine 3 along with the booster line and began extinguishing the flames. After containing the fire Chief 23 placed the fire under control. The fire is under investigation by FM 102. Thanks to Nikki Testa for the photos.
