Assist 24 With Trash Fire Date: April 9th, 2008 On April 9th, 2008 At 1839 hours. The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched for a single engine response to assist Kennett Fire Company with a trash fire on South Mill Road. Engine 23-2 responded within three minutes with a crew of five under the command of Chief 23. Engine 23-2 arrived on scene at 1847 hours and was instructed by Assistant 24 to stand-by at the nearest hydrant and await further instructions. The crew made its way to the scene and Assistant 24 made Engine 23-2 available on scene to respond to cover calls in the “24 Local”. Kennett crews extinguished the flames and then smothered the rubble with Class B foam to prevent a future flare-up. Engine 23-2 was available in station after re-servicing at 1956 hours.
