On Sunday evening around 19:08 hours Station 23 was alerted to assist West Grove Fire Company on a dwelling. Ambulance 22-1 was first on scene and reported fire showing from the "A" Side. Deputy 22 (Wood) arrived on scene and assumed Chatham Road Command and requested the working fire dispatch which added Rescue 27 (Cochranville) for the air bank and an engine out of 21 (Union) for the RIT. Engine 22 was the first piece of apparatus on scene and advanced a 1 3/4 handline into the front door. Avondale arrived on scene with Engine 23-2 under the command of Chief 23 (Swift) with the tanker behind the engine. Engine 23-2's crew pulled a second 1 3/4 line and started attacking the fire. Tanker 23 pulled up next to Engine 22 and supplied them with more water. Engine 23-1 was the next rig on scene. Their crew advanced a line into the rear and began an aggressive interior attack on the fire on the first floor. Engine 22 and 23-2's crew readvanced the line to the second floor after pulling out of the dwelling to regroup. After an aggressive interior fire attack by 22 and 23 crews the fire was placed under control by Chief 22 (Simpson). One firefighter was transferred to Jennersville Regional Hospital to be checked out. A GREAT JOB WAS DONE BY ALL!!
