Avondale adds three more names to Fire 1 Roster

On December 11, 2008 nine members of the Avondale Fire Company along with assorted family members traveled to Wagontown Fire Company’s Banquet Hall for a celebration.  The cause for the ceremony was the graduation of three of our newest members from the National Certified Fire Fighter 1 class.  The class is approximately 150 hours of intense training that takes members with little or no training and teaches them the basic skills and knowledge to perform firefighting duties anywhere in the U.S.  This class graduates include Rogelio “Rocky” Herrera, John “Peanuts” Ferraro, and Max “Bubbles” Raubfogel.  With the addition of these three members receiving “Fire 1” that brings our station to about 93% of our active members having the nationally certified training.  Our goal is to not only to get 100% of our members to get “Fire 1” but for us to continue our training and take higher classes like “Fire 2”, Fire Officer, etc.  A big congratulations to our newest “Fire 1” graduates.
