Avondale Members Help Make a Double Birthday Special

On Monday 02/18/08 Avondale members headed to Portmarnock Drive in Hartefeld. Today however there was no emergency. Crews were going to make two birthdays extra special. The engine arrived to a crowd of kids excited to see the truck with the lights flashing and sirens blaring. With the birthday boys up front and their friends in the back Firefighter Howell took them for a short ride around the cul-de-sac. After reviewing the trucks the kids were given a demonstration of the fire gear worn by Firefighter Morris. After all the kids gave him Hi-5’s they waved goodbye and headed inside for cake.
