Avondale Provides Coverage for Kennett Fire Company

Avondale Fire Company was requested a month ago by Deputy Chief Bruce Mitchell for our Pumper/Rescue (Engine 23-1)to stand-by at Kennett Fire Company while their members attended a boat training class in Columbia, Pa. Engine 23-1 left Avondale at 5:30 AM with a crew of 6 to head to Kennett Fire Company.  Once at Kennett, Deputy Chief Cole met up with Chief Melton for some discussion about the day.  The engine crew watched television, played football, and checked out the internet during the day.  Engine 23-1 was released at 5:45 PM by Chief Melton. During the stand-by the Kennett Fire Company had no fire calls. We would like to thank Kennett for the lunch they provided to us.
