Firefighters Morris IV and Reed Complete Firefighter 1 Certification
Date: July 10, 2008
By: Asst. Chief Augie Testa
On Thursday July 10th, Chester County Fire School held a ceremony for recent graduates of its fire training programs. The special event which honored Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and Driver/Pump Operator graduates was hosted by Wagontown Fire Company Station 35. The ceremony was a tribute to the many hours that all trainees volunteer and it reflected their dedication and hard work put forth within their respective communities.
There was also a special ceremony to honor the 15 years of service provided by Chester County Fire Training Coordinator John Weer. John is a past chief of Po-Mar-Lin (Unionville) Fire Company. John recently took on a new commitment within the Chester County Fire Marshall's Office. Gratitude for his years of service was expressed by his fellow instructors, county officials, and county fire departments.
The members and officers of Avondale Fire Company are extremely proud of firefighters John Morris IV and Kenny Reed. We encourage constant training and understand the sacrifices made and challenges faced by these two members. We would like to thank them for their commitment, their families for patience and understanding, and the Chester County Fire School for the excellent training provided.
