Girl Scouts Tour The 23 House

Date May 13, 2008
By: Firefighter John Morris IV

On Tuesday, May 13th, a group of local Girl Scouts came to the firehouse for a tour and to discuss authority. The girls learned how to respect and listen to the authoritative person in an emergency situation whether that be a fireman, policeman, or 9-1-1 call taker. The girls learned how and when to properly call 9-1-1, how to "Get Low and Go" when a smoke condition exists, and proper ways to listen and respect authority. The girls were also given the chance to try on some turnout gear and check out the apparatus.
