Career EMT Jack Wilkins Heads South to Continue His Tour With FEMA

Date: October 14, 2008
By: Firefighter John Morris IV

Avondale Career EMT Jack Wilkins returned home last week for a one week break from his tour with FEMA in Texas. In Texas Jack was assigned to assist in delivering food, ice, and water to residents who lost everything in the hurricane. He was also surveying damage and assisting residents in registering with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). Jack will now be helping residents that are currently living in tents and make shift huts move into temporary housing. His second tour will be over in approximately 30 days. We wish Jack the best of luck in helping all the people devastated by Hurricane Ike. Be safe and we look forward to seeing you back home soon!

**Thanks to Jack for all the great photos!**
