Life Member Celebrates 50th  Birthday With a “Yelp” and a “Whoop Whoop!”

On Saturday, August 30, Avondale Fire Company Life Member Anthony Perrone Sr. who currently resides in the area of New London, Connecticut made a much anticipated visit to the new firehouse. While old stories were being tossed around Anthony’s friends and family were secretly setting up for his 50th birthday party. Anthony’s two sons and daughter, Mindy, arranged with Chief Guy Swift to surprise Dad with a ride in the engine to the party. This was the first time all three kids and Dad ever rode in the truck together. Adding the fact he was a volunteer firefighter, his oldest son, Richard, has been in the fire service for 20 years and his youngest son Anthony Jr., is a New York City Firefighter made it extra special. With Anthony Sr. up front and his sons riding in the back Engine 23-1 with sirens wailing they rounded the corner to a huge party filled with old friends and family.

The Officers and Members of the Avondale Fire Company would like to wish Anthony Perrone Sr. a Happy 50th Birthday! We look forward to seeing you and your family again soon!
