Truck
Committee Looks to Neighboring Companies for Ideas On Thursday 02/07/08, there were red trucks in our firehouse instead of the usual green. Recently, a committee was formed to begin the process of replacing our current pumper/rescue Engine 23-1. The Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company of Unionville and the Concordville Fire Company each brought their recently purchased rescue/pumpers to our station for the committee members to inspect and gather ideas from. As time goes on, fire companies are expected to mediate an ever expanding array of emergency situations. This new truck will have the dual function of a rescue and engine increasing the need for creative and efficient storage. The process of designing a fire truck is lengthy and complicated. Due to the investment ($400K-$500K) and the potential of keeping the truck for 20 years, decisions made now will affect us far into the future. Special thanks to Po-Mar-Lin Chief Wells and Concordville Deputy Chief Griffin for volunteering their evening to help us out. Units on Scene: Rescue 36, Delco Rescue 59
