Three Vehicle accident on Baltimore Pike Date: February 19, 2009 On Thursday February 19, 2009, at 1613 hours the Avondale Fire Company was alerted to an auto accident at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Cypress Street. Safety 23 (Ianni) arrived on scene moments after dispatch and advised that there was an accident with 3 cars blocking the roadway, and 2 victims fleeing the scene. Moments later Ambulance 23-1, Engine 23-1 under command of LT. Bessicks, Traffic 23, and Squad 23 responded. When crews arrived on scene they found a vehicle vs. a pole, and a T-Bone Collision. Fire police shut down the road at Thompson Road and West Cypress, and Scarlett Road and West Cypress, and other crews checked vehicles for hazards. Later into the call 23-36 (Lysle) advised that he found a patient on the rail road tracks going in to shock, we were soon advised that it related to the accident. Ambulance 23-1 transported one to Christiana Hospital with Medic 94-2. All crews cleared at 1701 hours. Units: Engine 23-1, Traffic 23, Squad 23, Ambulance 23-1, Medic 94
