Just as Engine 23-1 back into the station after returning from Kennett the company was dispatched for an auto accident on Old Baltimore Pike in the area of Newark Road. The initial report was a head on collision with one vehicle through a pole and wires down. Engine 23-1 under the command of Deputy Chief Cole went enroute seconds after dispatch. Upon arrival Deputy 23 confirmed the reports and ordered Fire Police to shut down the road due to possibly live wires across the roadway and two vehicles blocking. The Engine Crew checked the vehicles for hazards and taped off the area. Squad 23 arrived on scene and assisted with taping off the area around the wires. PECO arrived and the scene was handed over to them.
