Engine & Tanker Assist West Grove On a Working Dwelling

At 1442 hours, the Union Fire Company (21) and Tanker 23 (Avondale) were alerted to assist the West Grove Fire Company (Stations 12/22) for a reported House Fire in the 200 block of Lewis Road in the Jennersville section of Penn Township. Ambulance 23-2 having just left Jennersville Regional Hospital was first on scene and reported a working fire. With this knowledge the fire board tapped out the working fire dispatch adding an additional engine from 23, Rescue 27, and Medic 94 to the initial dispatch. Engine 22 arrived and dropped a 5' supply line at the closest hydrant. Engine 21-2 arrived and assisted the 22 crew with placing two 1 3/4 handlines into service. Tanker 23 and Engine 23-2 arrived under the command of Chief Swift and assisted the initial interior crews with placing the fire under control and overhauling the damaged areas. Additional arriving units staged in a nearby parking lot and sent their respective crews into the scene.
