Company Completes Hazmat Operations Training

Members of the Avondale Fire Company recently completed a Hazmat Operations training class. In the class members reviewed skills such has how to use the emergency response guide book(ERG) and how to respond to and evaluate a hazmat incident. After completing class room sessions the company traveled to the montgomery county fire academy in order to take the written and practical tests. During the practical portion members need to demonstrate how to dam or divert an unknown liquid chemical, apply foam and properly setup and pre form a decontamination station.
