Date: January 19, 2010 At 06:57 hours of Tuesday January 19th, the Avondale Fire Company was alerted to assist Kennett Fire Company No.1 (Station 24) with auto accident with entrapment on Kaolin Road in Kennett Township. A few minutes Rescue-23 was fully staffed and enroute to assist in the extrication of the victim. Upon arrival at 07:10 hours Rescue-23 went into service with the “O-Cutters” and a “Combi” tool to assist Kennett’s crew with removal of the cars to access the victim. Crews from both companies worked for about 30 minutes to remove the drivers side front and rear doors along with the roof and the “B” post. Crews also had to remove the pedals of the car as the victims feet were stuck underneath them and they also had to perform a “dash lift” to further allow access to the patient. Crews returned available at 07:51 hours.
