Date: April 11, 2010
By: Firefighter Tim McDonnell

Today Sunday April 11, 2010 the Chester County Department of Emergency Services conducted their Firefighter 1 class. But today was not just any ordinary day of training. It was also conducted for the family and friends of the future (or current) firefighters to show the skills that have been taught to them. Firefighter 1 is a basic training class that teaches the essential skills necessary to accomplish multiple tasks in the field of firefighting. From using fire extinguishers to fighting structure fires, recruits are taught the necessities and tools of the fire service.

Personnel from The Avondale Fire Company were at the West Chester Fire Department Training Center in support of Future Firefighter C. Watterson.
