New Rescue 23

On December 6, 2009 Chief 23 faxed paperwork to the county concerning the new apparatus that would be designated as “Rescue 23”. At 11:49 hours Rescue 23 was in service. The Avondale Fire Company truck committee had spent much time preplanning Rescue 23 and during a meeting it was decided that the new Rescue would be purchased from 4 Guys Fire Trucks in Meyersdale, PA. Rescue 23 is a 2009 Spartan Gladiator chassis that is equipped with the following:

C-13 525 HP Caterpillar Engine
10 man cab with 10" raised roof
4-Guys Rescue Pumper Body
1500 GPM Hale Q-Max Single Stage pump
750 Gal. tank
Foam Pro Foam System with 30 gal. A and B cells
30KW Hydraulic Generator
1000' 5 inch LDH
300' 3" Supply Hose
2- 1 3/4" 200' Crosslays
